Hardy Rock Draws

The Hardy Rock Draws consist of 5 draws per year, two before Christmas and three after Christmas and there is an opening event the first week of the fall season. To get more information click on the appropriate name:

The Normandeau, The Ham & Turkey (Bill Driver), The Memorial, The Crockart and The Beliveau.

It is a fun mixed league that has two games per week between 08:30 and 17:00h depending on the number of teams. (normally 9:30 and 16:00h with 12 to 13 teams). With 5 draws per year you get to know and mix with 19 other members of the Hardy Rock curlers.

General Rules

  • We are there to have fun and get some exercise, therfore you must curl a minimum of 6 ends.
  • Shake hands or fist bump with your opponents before the game
  • Stand still, to the side of the sheet between the hog lines while your opponent throws
  • Only the thirds should be in the house to determine the score at the conclusion of an end.
  • At the conclusion of the game the third of the losing team should clean the ice.
  • HAVE FUN !
  • A team must have a minimum of two listed members present to have the game count otherwise that team defaults
  • Spares should be selected from the spares list and should not be of a higher position than the person they replace
  • The exception is a second may replace a lead if no leads are available
  • A team may play with 3 players with the first two players throwing 3 rocks each
  • ALL DISPUTES over team make up will be settled by the skips BEFORE the game. No further discussion entertained.
  • Games end after a maximum of 8 ends so ties are possibe
  • Points are 3 for a win, 2 for a tie, 1 for a loss, 0 for a default
  • Time Rules
    • games should take 2 hrs. for 8 ends, if play is slow the game will end after 7 ends no matter what time of day it is played
    • when there are 3 draws per day the first rock of the 8th end must be thrown before 2 hrs has passed
    • when there are 4 draws per day the first rock of the 8th end must be thrown before 1hr 50 min has passed
    • to speed up play, DO NOT SORT THE ROCKS Just push them to the appropriate corner
    • to speed up play, be in the hack ready to throw while the previous rock is travelling down the ice
  • Tie breakers to determine order of finish after the round robin
    1. Team with the highest points
    2. Team that won in head to head competition
    3. Team that had the highest number of wins
    4. Team that had the most points in a team draw to the button.
